There are maybe a few people on this world that don’t like chicken- for what reason, we don’t know.

When you get into a mood that has ideas and passion for cooking, but you don’t know what to cook, try this recipe for roast sticky chicken- rotisserie style.

Is it possible at all to make that kind of chicken at home? It sure is! However, it won’t be exactly easy and it will take some time (about 5 hours).

Just make sure you have a great pan in which the juices always caramelize at the bottom, to get that golden-brown colored bird.

The amount of ingredients in this recipe will be enough for 4 servings.

Ingredients

  • 4 teaspoons of salt
  • 2 teaspoons of paprika
  • 1 teaspoon of onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon of dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon of white pepper
  • ½ teaspoon of cayenne pepper
  • ½ teaspoon of black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 2 onions, quartered
  • 2 (4 pound) whole chickens

Step By Step Preparation

  1. Take a small bowl; mix salt, paprika, onion powder, thyme, white pepper, black pepper, cayenne pepper, and garlic powder in the bowl.
  2. Remove giblets from the chicken.
  3. Rinse the chicken cavity, and pat dry it with a paper towel.
  4. Rub the chicken inside and out with the spice mixture from the bowl.
  5. Place 1 onion into the cavity of each chicken, before placing them into a re-sealable bag or double wrap with a plastic wrap. Refrigerate for at least 4 to 6 hours.
  6. Preheat the oven to 250° F (120°C).
  7. Place the chicken in a roasting pan and let it bake uncovered for 5 hours, to a minimum internal temperature of 180°F (85°C).
  8. Let the chicken stand for 10 minutes and then carve it.
