Sweet Potato Casserole to Keep You Warm in the Winter

When the weather outside is frightful, a far is so delightful, but a belly cold from the snow can only be beaten with a sweet potato casserole!

Staying warm in the winter is much more than just putting on extra socks and a big jacket; it’s eating the foods that fill you up and seem to radiate heat from your stomach, out!

So pay attention and read along as you learn how to make this very simple, very satisfying sweet potato casserole.


  • 4 sweet potatoes
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Dash salt
  • 1 cup coarsely crushed butter-flavored crackers (about 25 crackers)
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar


Peel your sweet potatoes and dispose of the skins. Mash the potatoes up finely, than combine in a bowl with the ½ cup of sugar, the egg, ¼ cup of butter, ½ teaspoon of cinnamon, and the salt.

Stir the ingredients up well until mixed, then pour into a greased baking pan of appropriate size.

Combine the brown sugar, the crackers, and the last ¼ cup of butter together and sprinkle on top of mixture without stirring.

Bake uncovered at 350° 20-25 minutes, or until a thermometer stuck inside reads 160°F.

Take it out of the over then and immediately serve your warm, cold-fighting casserole!
