Healthy Dieting Also Makes You Smarter

A healthy diet that involves smart food choices, calorie counting, and portion control can be all you need for a long and disease-free life.

However, if you thought that healthy eating can only keep your waistline at check, a recent study is here to prove you wrong.

Study results that were published by the American Academy of Neurology showed that older people who ate healthy foods have a lower cognitive decline than those who didn’t.

Out of 28,000 people involved in the study, 20% of them who were on the healthiest diets showed the smallest drop in thinking and memory. These subject also stayed away from alcohol and coffee.

This basically means that if you practice eating vegetables, fruit, and fish, your brain will preserve its functions longer than if you ate red meat, whole grains and deep-fried foods.
