Halloween Pumpkin Cookies

Halloween is approaching fast and it is time to make some Halloween themed snacks. These vanilla and pumpkin flavored cookies with powdered sugar and milk frosting are perfect for this occasion, and the recipe is as easy as it gets.


  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup canned pumpkin
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup shortening
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 cup raisins (optional)


Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and grease up your cookie sheets.

Take sugar, egg, shortening, and vanilla and mix them all together in a large bowl until creamy.

In a separate bowl combine flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon, and stir into the creamed mixture.

Now stir in the pumpkin and raisins (if you opted for them).

Drop dough by teaspoonfuls onto the prepared cookie sheets. Once ready, bake 10-15 minutes in the preheated oven.
