How to make regular chicken wings even more delicious?

Japanese chefs say: egg them, fry them in butter, then bake them in a tangy sauce of soy sauce, water, sugar, vinegar, garlic powder and salt.

Sounds delicious? That’s because it really is. But don’t trust us, find out for yourself.

It will take you about an hour to make this dish, your friends will be amazed with the complexity of its taste. Let’s get busy!

Ingredients

  • 3 pounds chicken wings
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour for coating
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 1 cup butter
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup white vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, or to taste
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Preparation

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Cut the wings in half and dip them in egg, then coat with flour.
  2. Put butter in a large skillet and heat it over medium-high heat.
  3. Fry the wings until they become deep brown in color, then place them in a shallow roasting pan.
  4. In a small bowl combine soy sauce, water, sugar, vinegar, garlic powder and salt. Mix nicely, then pour over wings.
  5. Bake in preheated oven for about 45 minutes. (Basting wings with sauce often in order to get them properly baked.)
