If you are looking to spice up your apple cobbler experience, you’ve come to the right place.

This simple but effective hack will give your apple cobbler a nice twist and that unique lava cake feel.

Making of this classic southern dessert will take you about an hour to make and will tickle your taste buds just the right way.

Let’s get started.

  • 8 ounce refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 2 large apples (peeled, cored, and cut into 8 wedges)
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup butter (melted)
  • 1 bottle caffeinated citrus-flavored soda
  • Vanilla Ice Cream of your choice

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Take your 9×13 inch baking dish and grease it up.
  3. Unroll the crescent roll dough, separate the sheets into individual triangles, and roll each apple wedge into a triangle of dough. Once the triangles are done, place them into the baking dish.
  4. Combine the melted butter, sugar, and cinnamon in a large bowl. Spoon the mixture evenly over the slices and pour the soda over the rolls.
  5. Put the baking dish into the preheated oven and bake until the top is browned, the apples cooked through, and the cobbler bubbling. Around 50 minutes.
  6. Serve while still hot, with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top for that lava cake experience.
