Exactly Which Fruits And Veggies Are Good For Weight Loss?

So far, we’ve learned that the way to a healthier, obesity-free life is paved with fruits and vegetables, amongst other things. However, it’s not quite clear as to exactly which veggies and fruits are the most beneficial when it comes to weight loss. Until now, that is.

Think ‘Flavonoids’

A new study from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health in Boston discovered that there are seven types of flavonoids – beneficial compounds found in plants – that aid weight loss the most.

The research team observed how these types of flavonoids affected the weight of over 120,000 men and women aged 27-65.

Interestingly enough, the results have shown that flavonols, flavan-3-ols, anthocyanins, and flavonoid polymers prevented weight gain the most in the test subjects.

Consuming these compounds isn’t only great from preventing those pounds from packing on, but they also have links to heart health, lower blood glucose levels, and liver health.

Simply add strawberries, blueberries, onions, tea, and apples to your diet, and you’ll supply yourself with enough flavonoids to prevent any sort of weight gain.
