You’ve probably heard a thousand times that going to bed early has numerous health benefits, and now science has finally linked being fit to being an early bird!

According to The Metro, the DNA of 90,000 individuals who classified themselves as either being early risers or being night owls, showed that the early risers were skinnier than those who went to bed at the wee hours.

Scientists discovered 15 genes related to early rising, which could also be responsible for our weight.

Still, it should be pointed out that not having those genes doesn’t mean we can’t train ourselves to go to bed earlier and get up earlier.

During the night, our body restores its energy and our organs get rejuvenated, particularly if we fall asleep before midnight. Regaining strength during the night translates into more proper bodily functions that also regulate and keep our weight in check.

In other words, sleep is an excellent diet! If you’re struggling to lose weight, and have tried countless diet regimes, you simply must start going to bed early as this is crucial if you wish to see those numbers on the scale drop.
