3 Healthy Home-Made Cures For The St. Patrick’s Day Hangover

Let’s face it, you are going to get ridiculously drunk on St. Patrick’s Day, there’s no point in denying it. You are going to drink so much of that green beer that you will be useless the next day. As useless as the “g” in lasagna.

But don’t fret just yet, though. Here we have 3 simple but effective healthy hangover cures that anyone can make in no time.

1. Ginger Tea

Not only is ginger tea a badass hangover cure, it is downright delicious. The ingredients include:

  • 1 tablespoon fresh grated ginger
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon liquid sweetener for flavor (honey or maple syrup)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice (optional)


HOW TO MAKE IT: Bring the water to a boil and add the grated ginger. Remove from heat and let sit for 10 minutes to steep. Strain the ginger and stir in the sweetener of your choice. Optional: add lemon juice.

2. Matcha Green Tea

Matcha is THE super-food when it comes to hangovers. It is a true brain food and the ingredients for the Matcha green tea include:

  • 8 ounces coconut water
  • Pinch sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon Matcha green tea powder


HOW TO MAKE IT:

Just stir all the ingredients together in a glass and you’re good to go! The caffeine in Matcha will kick in after mere minutes.

3. Spinach And Tomato Scramble Eggs

Aside from the healthy teas above, we must also cover the best hangover food – SCRAMBLE EGGS.

Ingredients:

  • 3 large eggs (or 1 egg, 2 egg whites)
  • 1/2 teaspoon olive oil
  • 2 cups baby spinach
  • 1/2 cup chopped tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon grated parmesan or goat cheese (optional)
  • Pinch salt/pepper


HOW TO MAKE IT: In a small bowl whisk the eggs and season with salt and pepper to taste, then set aside. In a non-stick skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat, add spinach and tomatoes. Cook for 2 minutes while tossing. Add eggs and cook for another 2 minutes. Stir occasionally. Add the cheese for the final touch.
